1)  SUG-TX December Meeting

The Sybase Users’ Group of Texas will not have a December meeting but instead held their annual Holiday Party on December 13th at Canyon Café. Everyone that attended had a great time. Best wishes to each of you during this holiday season.  We will be gearing up for the January planning meeting so save the January 24th date and attend to share what technical topics you would like to hear presented.

Mark your calendar for future topics for SUG-TX Meetings:

Topics for future meetings are subject to change based on speaker availability and scheduling.  Watch the newsletter for details for each meeting.  SUG-TX usually meets on the 4th Tuesday so add a recurring appointment on your calendar.

3)  Join the SUG-TX LinkedIn Group

The Sybase Users’ Group of Texas has a group in LinkedIn.  If you wish to join, submit a request.  You can find the group by searching for “Sybase Texas” in the groups directory.  Contact if you have any questions.

4)  New ISUG Member Benefit – PowerBuilder 12.5

We are pleased to announce that PB 12.5 is now available to ISUG Green / Gold members.  You can access the benefit from the ‘My Benefits’ page under the ‘Members’ menu option.  Also, if you are looking for an updated license for your previously obtained PowerBuilder 12 benefit, you can now order that too provided your membership is up to date.

5)  ISUG Annual Meeting – December 13th

ISUG held its annual member meeting on December 13th, 2011 at 1pm EST / 6pm UTC.  This meeting was held via webcast. The new ISUG Board was presented as well as the goals for the upcoming year. ISUG has increased its number of virtual Special Interest Groups and has some new partners. Members can see the recording at

6)  International Sybase User Group Events

The International Sybase User Group (ISUG) sponsors events for Special Interests Groups (SIGs), Virtual User Groups, and members.  Sign up for ISUG Membership for as little as $30 for a SUG-TX group basic membership and get access to events and online material.  For more details, visit:

8)  OpenSolaris / Houston User Group for Sun (HUGS) Meeting

The OpenSolaris / Houston User Group for Sun meets on the second Tuesday of every month.  The next meeting will be on January 10th.
